2. What documents are required for renewal?
You shouldn't go to the police station empty-handed. The list of documents is standard, but it's better to double-check everything. You will need: passport, valid TIE card, printed confirmed net, completed application and receipt for payment of the fee.

3. Filling out the EX-17 form
This is an official application for a foreigner's card (Solicitud de Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero). It must be filled out carefully so that there are no errors in the surname or residence information.

4. Payment of the fee (Tasa 790 code 012)
Your documents will not be accepted without a paid “tasa”. It is important to select the correct item on the form so that the fee amount is correct for card renewal.

5. How to check the card's readiness?
Once you have your fingerprints (huellas) taken, you just have to wait for the plastic to be made. This usually takes 30 to 45 days, but you can check the status online from the comfort of your home.

Don't leave it until the last minute, as the excitement will increase as your current cards expire. If you managed to get a seat, congratulations! If not, try at different times of the day, especially in the morning or on Friday at noon.
