When someone plans to open autonomous in Spain, then you quickly face the question: who will keep the accounting, file the declarations, and keep track of taxes? There are several solutions:
- classic version - gestor (gestor autónomo), who handles all paperwork and administrative matters;
- modern online platforms such as Xolo, TaxScouts or other services for the autonomous, where everything is done remotely via the Internet (something similar to Taxer in Ukraine).
In this article we will look at exactly role of hestor for autonomous, its responsibilities, cost, and benefits. And in another post, I will talk more about online systems (such as Xolo and TaxScouts, etc.) so you can compare and choose what is more convenient for you.
Who is Hestor?
Hestor – is a specialist who manages accounting and administrative affairs for an autonomous organization. Relatively speaking, this is “accountant for self-employed in Spain”, but with broader functions.
He can:
- register you as self-employed (register with Hacienda and Social Security);
- select the correct activity code (like Kveda in Ukraine);
- keep records of expenses and income;
- submit quarterly and annual declarations (IVA, IRPF, Modelo 303, Modelo 130, etc.);
- advise on discounts, benefits, and assistance for the self-employed;
- represent your interests before the tax office.
Hestor or Asesor: what's the difference?
You can often hear another term - assessor. (advisor)In practice in Spain the difference is as follows:
- Hestor – deals more with administrative matters: submitting documents, filling out forms, contacts with government agencies.
- Assessor – provides advice, strategy and recommendations on tax optimization and legal aspects.
In practice, many offices combine both services, so for an autonomous person, it is usually enough to contact the history office and receive full support.
Why is it better to have a hestor for autonomous driving?
- Time saving – you don't need to understand complex forms and laws.
- Fewer risks – the gestor knows how to avoid fines for errors in declarations.
- Clear accounting – all expenses and income will be correctly declared.
- Support in Ukrainian/English/Spanish – if you find “your” hestor, communication becomes much easier.
Well, it's almost impossible to do it all correctly yourself.
Cost of hestor services
Prices depend on the region and the scope of services. On average, support for autonomous vehicles costs from 40 to 80 euros per monthThis is a small investment that allows you to avoid much larger fines and tax problems. And your tax preparer will write off this payment as an autonomous vehicle expense, making the final price even lower.
